Privacy notice
How we handle
your information.
This notice explains what personal information ForwardMode collects through this website, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Who we are
ForwardMode is responsible for the personal information described here (the “data controller” under UK data protection law). You can contact us about privacy at hello@forwardmode.co.uk.
What we collect
When you use the contact form: your name, email address, company (if given), the topic you choose and your message.
When you email us directly: your email address and whatever you include in your message.
When you visit the site: our hosting provider handles technical information needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. To prevent abuse of the contact form, our server briefly keeps the IP address of each submission in memory for up to 10 minutes. It is not written to storage.
We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or browser storage.
Why we use it
We use your enquiry to reply to you and to discuss the work you have asked about. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where you are asking about our services, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Technical information is used to run the website securely and keep it working. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
We do not sell your information or use it for automated decision-making, and we will not add you to a marketing list without your permission.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:
- Railway hosts this website.
- Resend delivers contact-form messages to our inbox.
- Google (Gmail) provides the email inbox where enquiries are received.
These providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the legal safeguards they provide for international transfers, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where it applies.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless the enquiry leads to work together, in which case it becomes part of our client records.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email hello@forwardmode.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
